Tanabe Medalion Touring 80mm Catback Exhaust System Part # T70072 for the 2003 - 2007 Lancer Evolution
Tanabe Medalion Touring 80mm Catback Exhaust System Part # T70072 for the 2003 - 2007 Lancer Evolution
80mm (3.15 inch) piping and straight through muffler design.
A refined level of performance and driveability is available in the MEDALION TOURING.
The elegant, well defined appearance of MEDALION TOURING is mature, and matches the artistry of a tastefully built, highly tuned machine.
Using the all new 'continuous strand' ADVANTEX packing material technology, MEDALION TOURING acheives extremely high levels of exhaust system efficiency, while maintaining a street driveable, extremely low frequency and deep tone that is well under 93db for discreet sports driving.
This system requires no removeable silencer for under 93db operation at all rpms. The extremely deep, low frequency tone keeps in-cabin noise to a minimum.
The full SUS304 stainless MEDALION TOURING features a slim-line oval canister, and a special dual wall, angle-cut tip.
This premium quality system is for sports driving.
Advantex Performance exhaust technology
Advantex is a highly advanced muffler packing material that greatly excels over other packing material types such as loose packed fiberglass mats and composite cube types. Advantex internal packing material allows the muffler to reduce sound more, with less material, while maintaining extremely high flow characteristics.
Special Dual Wall Angle-Cut Tip
MEDALION TOURING features a special dual wall, angle-cut tip. While very attractive looking, the dual wall tip has the function of reducing exhaust resonation. As sound travels through exhaust piping, it can begin to resonate. The dual wall design of this tip reduces this effect.
Slim-line Oval Canister with high Ground Clearance
Because of the new Advantex packing material, the canister size can be much slimmer, weigh less, and reduce sound more than other systems that require large bulky canisters, or multiple sub-mufflers. MEDALION TOURING's slim canister is pleasing to the eye, and is designed to allow for high ground clearance, for lowered vehicles.
Highest Grade SUS304 Construction
Tanabe was one of the first Japanese aftermarket companies to create full SUS304 stainless steel exhaust systems many years ago. The highest grade SUS304 stainless is used on all systems for maximum durability, as well as lightweightedness. Our experience in developing SUS304 systems has allowed us to reach a high level of craftsmanship in this field.
Weight Reduction - 1.2mm Thinwall Piping
Specially engineered for use on our exhaust systems, a piping wall diameter of 1.2mm was developed, which allowed weight to be significantly reduced, while remaining durable for extended useage. The SUS304 piping also plays a role in sound output, as it reduces resonation and helps our systems produce their trademark low, deep tone.
Weight Reduction - Hollow Exhaust Hangar
Because every bit of weight savings is beneficial, exhaust hangars have hollow construction to reduce weight.
Weight Reduction - Pressed Flanges
Further weight reduction is acheived and utilizes through the use of pressed SUS304 exhaust flanges on portions of the exhaust system.
Straightest Form, Mandrel Bent
Minimizing bends is a goal of each custom built Tanabe exhaust system. The truest form is realized to minimize restrictions and maximize useable power gains. Where necessary, the piping is mandrel bent for improved exhaust flow characteristics.
Streetable System - 93db Compliant, Quality Sound
Tanabe exhaust systems are well known to have one of the most unique exhaust notes available. A trademark of the Tanabe exhaust system the extremely clean, low, deep tone that is both pleasant and aggressive at all RPM ranges. Designed for motorsports, this exhaust system is also fully streetable and is built to be under 93db when used and installed as a factory replacement exhaust.
